Your month with us.

Five things happen every month. You do one of them.

  1. As it happensYou do it

    Send receipts and bills

Forward receipts and supplier bills as they arrive, or snap a photo. Bank and card transactions come to us through direct feeds.

  2. Days 1 to 5We do it

    Reconcile every account

Bank, credit card, and loan and merchant accounts matched to statements, line by line.

  3. Days 5 to 9We do it

    Categorise and accrue

Transactions coded, accruals and prepaids booked, and anything unclear sent to you as a single list of questions.

  4. By the 10thWe do it

    Close the month

The month is locked, and your P&L, balance sheet, and cash flow are in your inbox.

  5. At year-endWe do it

    Hand over a clean file

Twelve closed months become a year-end file in the form your accountant wants, or the starting point for us to prepare your return.

Questions come to you in one short list, not a drip of emails. We reply to yours within one business day.

Starting with us.

Messy books are a normal starting point, not a problem.

  1. Step 1

    We read twelve months

Before quoting, we look at a year of your books, so the flat fee you get back is a real number, not an estimate we revise later.

  2. Step 2

    A clean cut-off

Most clients start at a month-end or their fiscal year-end. Mid-year, we take over from a clean cut-off and reconcile back to it.

  3. Step 3

    Current month first

If there's cleanup, we quote it separately and bring the most recent month current first, so you have usable numbers quickly.

Bookkeeping questions.

That is a normal starting point. We quote cleanup separately and up front, tell you how far back it is worth going, and bring the most recent complete month current first.

On your actual transaction volume, payroll count, and the number of accounts to reconcile, which is why we read twelve months of books before quoting. If your volume shifts materially, we re-quote in writing at the next quarter rather than adding a surcharge.

QuickBooks Online and Xero. If you're on something else, we'll tell you on the call whether it's worth moving.

Not necessarily. We prepare corporate and personal returns ourselves. If you have an accountant you want to keep, we prepare the year-end file in the form they want it.

One named bookkeeper, with a second person reviewing each close. Your file is never handed to someone who hasn't read it.
